CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF HEARING LOSS
Hearing loss can have a range of consequences. For some people, Hearing loss comes on gradually enough that they continue to think their hearing is fine, even when it’s not. Hearing loss differ from person to person but most people with hearing impairment suffer some social, psychological, and physical problems.
Hearing Loss Can Happen At Any Age!
It Can be due to:-
- The natural aging process.
- Ear infection.
- Trauma.
- Injury.
- Exposure to loud music, rock concerts, headphones.
- Illness or complications at birth.
- Constant noise at work.
- Degeneration of the nerves leading from the inner ear to the brain.
- Genetic.
- Ringing sensation in the ears.
One of the major causes of hearing loss is aging and exposure to noise.
Hearing loss in children can be inherited or can be caused by illness or injury.
HEARING LOSS SHOULD BE TESTED AT BIRTH AND REGULAR INTERVALS.
Symtoms of Hearing loss
Hearing loss may result in :-
- Difficulty hearing in public gathering,concert ,halls.
- Difficulty in understanding in noisy situations or in hearing T.V.
- Loss of confidence.
- Misunderstanding conversations ,missing the punch lines of the jokes.
- Avoid social situations ,family gatherings.
- Asking others to repeat themselves.
- You don’t enjoy being with the people as much as you used to.
